Where are all the creative people in this country? Where do they showcase their work? Why don’t we meet each other and begin a network of creative individuals? Who will represent them in other countries? These were the premises on which we began our great quest. To be able to define us in pragmatic terms would be to say that we are an organization lead by three creative minds. However, this is not all that we are. Our impulse and motivation is the desire for international recognition of art and design as well as its creators.
Our foundation lays within two individuals who strive to advance this platform and network in a progressive manner. Katro Rodríguez is a graphic designer with a degree from the UDEM in Monterrey, Mexico. In addition to her degree she also studied Photography in Florence, Italy and has vast knowledge and experience on the subject. Gustavo Ortega-Oyarzun originates from the town of Celaya in Guanajuato, Mexico and is an architect specialized in interior design and carpentry. In 2008 he brought together various ideas and expressions that surge in the creative and art scenes of Mexico with the objective of providing an exhibition platform and network to increase awareness for these at an international level.
Art in its various forms, as we know, is a mean of communication. Freedom of expression is a basic need of man often manifested and communicated through colors, sounds, and movements. Today, the “Bellas Artes” is an expression still used to capture the association of beauty and the seven defined art forms that exist. We like to use this name as an antithesis of sorts to the weight that it dons to its subjects, explaining that it is not necessary for an artist to have a long-standing history or impressive curriculum in order for his work to be appreciated.
It is in these little-known artists that we place our faith, knowing that they will break the confinements they are placed in for the ability to express their individual nature. Our job is to intensify and increase the interaction between the artist and the receptor, our work is to give artists the opportunity to present their work in front of an international audience and lastly our mission is to serve as a bridge so that new ideas and emerging art flow throughout the contemporary art communities at local, national, and global levels.
